PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island officials have planned a series of discussions to get input from residents about recreation in the state.
The Department of Environmental Management says the feedback will inform a statewide recreation plan to help create improved outdoor opportunities for residents and visitors and prioritize funding for future outdoor recreation projects over the next five years.
A discussion about trails and mountain biking will take place Tuesday at the Kettle Pond Visitors Center in Charlestown.
A discussion about parks, playgrounds and urban recreation will take place Thursday night at the Boys & Girls Club in Pawtucket.
Events in November will focus on health, general recreation and biking.
Agency Director Janet Coit says the input will help the department create better outdoor recreational opportunities for everyone.
