DICKINSON, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a car crashed into an Amish buggy in northern New York, sending three children to the hospital.

The Press-Republican of Plattsburgh reports a car tried to pass a vehicle while going over a hill in Dickinson on Thursday afternoon. Police say the car struck the rear of a buggy on the other side of the hill.

The buggy had three passengers, a 13-year-old, an 8-year-old and a 7-year-old.

All three children were ejected from the buggy and hospitalized for treatment.

The 13-year-old suffered fractured bones and the 8-year-old suffered fractured neck vertebrae.

The youngest child was hospitalized for an evaluation. The driver of the car was not injured.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
