GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - State police have released details of a three-vehicle crash on a suburban New York highway that claimed the life of a 62-year-old Mount Vernon man.
Troopers say Thursday that their initial investigation indicates Denis Mays was involved in a collision around 4 p.m. Wednesday on state Route 100C in the town of Greenburgh in Westchester County.
Police say he fled the scene and soon after hit another vehicle while changing lanes on the southbound side of Sprain Brook Parkway. His car crossed the center median and entered the northbound lanes, where it collided with two other vehicles.
Troopers say Mays was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the other three vehicles suffered minor injuries.
The investigation into the crash is continuing.
