JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi’s state forester has resigned following an arrest for DUI.

Local news outlets report that Charlie Morgan resigned Monday.

Forestry commissioners have named Assistant State Forester Russell Bozeman as the interim state forester. The commission didn’t immediately announce how it will select a permanent replacement.

Morgan was arrested last week by a state trooper on DUI charges in Leake County while driving his personal vehicle. He was later released.
