WINDHAM, N.H. (AP) - Firefighters in New Hampshire say a Windham home caught fire when it was struck by lightning.

The resident reported the lightning strike and subsequent fire Tuesday night by calling 911. WMUR-TV reports smoke and fire were visible when fire crews arrived. Crews from Salem, Derry, Pelham, Londonderry, Auburn and Hudson provided mutual aid.

A crew was able to put out the majority of the fire in the attic and it was brought under control in just over an hour. Crews remained on the scene to monitor.
