DENVER (AP) - Authorities say a person rescued from a burning home in a northern Denver suburb has died.
KMGH-TV reports firefighters searched a home in Thornton after a blaze erupted Monday night, finding one person inside.
Thornton firefighters quickly gained control of the blaze Monday, encountering heavy smoke upon arrival to the scene. North Metro Fire Rescue assisted in firefighting efforts.
The person was taken to a hospital where staff later announced the patient had died.
Authorities have not yet released the person’s name and cause of death.
Thornton firefighters say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
