766 acres in Vermont woods can be yours, for nearly $10M

STOWE, Vt. (AP) - A property with forests, meadows and beaver ponds in one of Vermont’s most desirable towns can be yours for a cool $9.95 million.

The 766-acre parcel in Stowe abuts more than 13,000 acres of the C.C. Putnam State Forest and the Worcester Mountains.

Rich Gardner of RE/MAX North Professionals tells the Burlington Free Press that the property is owned by siblings living in Kentucky, Georgia and Florida. The property has been in the family for years, but the siblings are ready to sell.

The Stowe Land Trust says it would love to see the land preserved. But the parcel may be too expensive.

McKee Macdonald of Coldwell Banker Carlson Real Estate said “land conservation and $10 million price tags don’t usually go hand-in-hand.”
