RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The fourth and final day of a downtown Raleigh arts festival that had already been rescheduled once due to Hurricane Florence has been scrapped due to strong, gusty winds.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reports that the last day of the four-day SPARKcon festival was called off Sunday after wind gusts overturned tents and tossed other gear and supplies overnight.

In an early Sunday statement, event organizers said they were “calling a truce with Mother Nature” and canceling the festival’s last day due before it got started.

Sunday activities included music, street-painting and fashion events. The festival features more than 2,000 artists.
