TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Gas prices have declined in New Jersey and around the nation following some high prices unusual for the season over the past few weeks.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas Friday in New Jersey was $2.87, down three cents from last week. Motorists were paying $2.45 for gas in New Jersey at this time last year.
The national average gas price Friday was also $2.87 a gallon, down four cents from last week. The national average a year ago was $2.46 a gallon.
Analysts say crude prices are now under $70 - a $6 drop from earlier this month, giving motorists a welcome break at the pump.
