VALIER, Mont. (AP) - Montana wildlife officials tranquilized and relocated a 900-pound (408 kilogram) grizzly bear that wandered onto the Birch Creek Hutterite Colony south of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks reports colony members had tried to haze the bear away from the residential area between Heart Butte and Valier on Wednesday, but the bruin sought shelter in a garage and wouldn’t leave.

Colony residents called FWP for help.

The male bear hadn’t otherwise caused any problems so it was tranquilized and released in an area west of East Glacier.
