PLAINFIELD, Vt. (AP) - Goddard College in Vermont has been placed on probation by the New England Association of Schools.
The Times Argus reports the association notified the Plainfield college on Sept. 21. Officials say the college needs to address issues with organization and its financial resources.
Michelle Barber, who serves as the school’s interim director of marketing, says the college is currently working on organizational issues. Barber says the commission didn’t find any issues with the college’s academic programs.
Tuition and fees account for over 90 percent of the college’s operating budget. According to Barber, enrollment this semester is down about 50 percent compared to fall 2010.
Bernard Bull was recently named the college’s next president. He is scheduled to start next month.
