MCCOOK, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says two people were killed this week in a crash about nine miles north of McCook.
The patrol says the crash happened around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday when a northbound car on Highway 83 crossed the center line and hit a southbound semitrailer.
Investigators say the driver of the car, 72-year-old William Shanahan, of Maywood, and his passenger, 64-year-old Georgia Connor, of Stratton, were both pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.
Officials continue to investigate.
