TOWNSHIP 34, Maine (AP) - Maine State Police say one man died in a crash on a remote rural road.
Police say 53-year-old Gary Haskell died late Wednesday morning when his pick-up went off a rural road in Township 34 in Hancock County. His truck hit a number of trees and overturned on its roof.
Lowell, Maine resident Haskell died at the scene and sustained severe trauma and injuries.
His 47-year-old female passenger was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Centers for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say that Haskell and the passenger weren’t wearing seatbelts.
Police say it appears alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
