PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Rhode Island has dipped 4 cents in the past week to its lowest level since the spring.

AAA Northeast reported Monday that its weekly price survey found self-serve, regular averaging $2.77 per gallon.

Rhode Island’s price is a penny higher than the national average, and 20 cents higher than the in-state price a year ago.

AAA spokesman Lloyd Albert says if the crude oil market remains steady, prices in the short term will likely continue to fall.

AAA found self-serve, regular selling for as low as $2.63 per gallon to as high as $2.99.
