CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AP) - Police say a New Hampshire man has died after his car went off a Massachusetts highway and into a body of water.
State police responded to Route 3 southbound in Chelmsford at about 5 p.m. Sunday after getting a report about a single-vehicle crash.
The car went off the right side of the roadway into the water.
An off-duty trooper who reported the crash entered the water to try and help the driver.
The victim, 63-year-old Kenneth Rossi, of Bristol, New Hampshire, was taken by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation shows Rossi may have had a medical incident before the crash.
