CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Some West Virginia cities don’t want any rain on their parades and are changing the dates of their annual Christmas displays.

News outlets report Charleston will have its parade on Dec. 8, while St. Albans’ parade will be Dec. 15 and Huntington’s parade will be Dec. 10. And Milton canceled its Christmas in the Park event that had been set for Saturday.

Rod Blackstone of the Charleston mayor’s office said in a news release that weather forecasts show a good chance of rain Saturday morning. He said officials checked with forecasters and parade partners before reaching the decision to postpone the parade.

St. Albans also postponed its annual candle-lighting ceremony.
