SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A state Division of Juvenile Justice Services official has been named as the next director of the agency, which provides intervention, supervision and rehabilitation programs for youth offenders.
Brett Peterson is currently head of the division’s licensing office. He originally joined the agency while working as an assistant state attorney general.
Peterson will succeed division Director Susan Burke, who is retiring.
He said in a statement released Friday by the Department of Human Services that he is committed to providing “continuous quality improvement, collaboration and youth centered, family focused services.”
