TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Drivers in New Jersey and around the country are getting another break at the pump with the continuing decrease of gas prices.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas Friday in New Jersey was $2.78, down a nickel from last week. Motorists were paying $2.51 for gas in New Jersey at this time last year.

The national average gas price Friday was also $2.78 a gallon, down six cents from last week. The national average a year ago was $2.51 a gallon.

Analysts warn, however, that the drop in gas prices could change if the global crude oil supply is affected by U.S. sanctions against Iran scheduled to take effect in the next week.
