NEW YORK (AP) - A historic New York City church has been severely damaged by fire for the second time in 11 years.
The fire broke out at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Bay area early Thursday, destroying the sanctuary.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control around 2 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
The cause was not immediately determined.
The church dates back to 1895, and it was still rebuilding from a fire in 2007.
