REVERE, Mass. (AP) - Authorities in Massachusetts are investigating the discovery of what appear to be human remains in a marsh north of Boston.

The remains, which appear to be bones, were found Friday in the area of the Rumney Marsh in Revere by hunters.

The remains were transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which will attempt to determine whether they are human and, if so, the cause and manner of the person’s death.

Authorities are keeping the exact site of the discovery because it’s a potential crime scene and evidence may need to be protected.
