HARRISVILLE, Utah (AP) - A 29-year-old female pedestrian has been hit and killed by a vehicle while crossing U.S. Highway 89 in Weber County.

Harrisville Police Chief Maxwell Jackson identified the victim as Brittany Zoller. Her hometown wasn’t immediately available.

Jackson told the Deseret News she was crossing the highway Wednesday night near 1250 North in Harrisville when she was struck by a southbound vehicle.

Police are still investigating the accident. But Jackson says she attempted to cross the highway without a crosswalk and that drugs or alcohol may have been involved.
