Woman killed in hit-and-run crash in Springfield, police say

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Authorities say a woman has been arrested after a hit-and-run crash killed another woman in Springfield.

KYTV reports that the driver sped away after rear-ending the victim’s vehicle late Tuesday. Police Lt. Chad McIntyre says the driver was then involved in a second crash just a block away.

Police credit witnesses with boxing in the driver until an officer arrived to arrest her. Police say the driver was likely impaired.

The name of the victim wasn’t immediately released.
