ROMNEY, W.Va. (AP) - Frontier Communications says it is working to restore internet and phone service in several West Virginia counties where a disruption occurred after a traffic crash.

Frontier spokesman Javier Mendoza said in a news release the wreck happened early Wednesday near Romney, resulting in four broken poles and severed fiber-optic and copper communications cables. Internet, landline phone and 911 service was disrupted.

The release said the affected areas include parts of Mineral, Hampshire, Berkley, Jefferson and Morgan counties and the Potomac Highlands Region.

The company expects to restore service Wednesday.
