AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say two teenage boys were detained after one allegedly took a BB gun to their suburban Denver high school.

Police say no shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident Friday at Rangeview High School in Aurora.

More than 70 officers responded to the school, which is about 5 miles (8 kilometers) from a movie theater where a gunman killed 12 people in 2012.

Police say a photo appeared on Snapchat showing a student in the school with a weapon in his waistband.

Officers searched the school and nearby neighborhoods and found a boy with the BB gun about a mile away. Police say the gun was “made to look like a real firearm.”

He and another boy were questioned and released to their parents. Police say charges are pending.
