BRANDON, Miss. (AP) - Two people have been killed and three others hurt in a crash in Mississippi.
Cpl. Kervin Stewart with the Mississippi Highway Patrol told news outlets that the wreck happened late Sunday night on U.S. 49 in Rankin County.
Stewart says a pickup truck pulling a trailer ran into the back of a dump truck. He says two people in the pickup were killed - 21-year-old William M. Ham of Mize and 19-year-old Jamie B. Powell of Raleigh. Two others were hospitalized with severe injuries - 20-year-old Brandon E. Doyle of Taylorsville and Alexis Taylor of Pinola.
The driver of the dump truck, Shemaiah E. Arbuthnot of Woodville, was taken to the hospital with less-severe injuries.
