HOLBROOK, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say Interstate 40 is closed in both directions about 5 miles (8 kilometers) west of Holbrook in northeastern Arizona because of downed power lines.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said Thursday morning there was no estimate when the highway will reopen and advised drivers to consider delaying their travel because there are no nearby alternate routes.

No additional information was released.

Holbrook is 91 miles (146 kilometers)east of Flagstaff and 233 miles (374.96 kilometers) west of Albuquerque, New Mexico
