UPPER DARBY, Pa. (AP) - A suburban Philadelphia school district says a high school student brought a pellet gun to campus, leading to a brief lockdown before the student was taken into custody.

The Upper Darby School District says in tweet that the lockdown was lifted Thursday morning and the student is in police custody. They say “everyone is safe.”

The Upper Darby High School was placed on lockdown around 8 a.m. while police inspected the building.

About a dozen police vehicles could be seen outside the school about 10 miles west of Philadelphia.
