GRAY, Maine (AP) - The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department says a motorist was killed when his car crashed into a tree in Gray, Maine.

Deputies say 72-year-old Richard Shok, of Wells, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday morning.

The cause of the crash on Route 26 is still under investigation, but deputies say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
