OPINION:
Consider that the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn began with allegations of a violation of the Logan Act. This rule makes it a felony if “[a]ny citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States.”
Accordingly, “Throw John Kerry in jail” (Web, May 6), which suggests a “hard look at Mr. Kerry,” should prompt an investigation to determine what transpired in every exchange that private citizen Kerry may have had with every representative of every foreign government since leaving government. Unless, of course, the Obama deep state cannot tear itself away from undermining the Trump presidency long enough to do so.
