BOUNTIFUL, Utah (AP) - Authorities say a would-be robber was killed and a second suspect escaped after a shooting in a pawn shop in the Salt Lake City-area city of Bountiful.

Police Lt. Dave Edwards told reporters a store employee received unspecified minor injuries in a struggle with the dead man shortly after opening the shop about 10 a.m. Friday.

Edwards says it wasn’t immediately clear if the employee was armed, but at least one of the suspects had a gun.

It wasn’t immediately known the suspect also fired any shots.

Police say the second man escaped in a white SUV that was parked across the street. He was wearing a blue mask, a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Edwards says police aren’t sure if he had a gun.
