MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Much of Vermont is under a tornado watch as showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through the state.

The National Weather Service says some of the storms Friday afternoon and night could produce damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall. It says isolated tornadoes are possible.

The tornado watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for 12 of Vermont’s 14 counties.
