YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Two of three courtrooms in the Yakima County jail basement reopened after being flooded when a water pipe broke.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports the rooms, which were flooded last week, reopened Wednesday after officials expected the basement to open Tuesday morning.

Jeremy Welch, chief of the Yakima County Department of Corrections’ administrative division, says the reopening was delayed a day to ensure everything was completely dry and all cleanup equipment was removed.

The pipe, which is used to run the air conditioning, was discovered early May 21 dumping water into the basement.
