Elderly man’s body found after Mississippi apartment fire

BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - The body of an elderly man has been found following an apartment fire in Mississippi.

Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney confirmed to news outlets that the man’s body was found inside a bedroom at the Westwick Apartments around noon Monday. Boney says responding firefighters found heavy smoke in the bedroom, and discovered the body after extinguishing the fire.

Boney says the fire was limited to a single apartment. Its cause remains under investigation.
