WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) - Police say a 72-year-old man who died when his crashed in Woonsocket apparently had some kind of medical emergency.
Police say the victim appears to have been driving himself to Landmark Medical Center at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday when his vehicle veered off the road, struck a stone wall and a utility pole before coming to a rest.
A passer-by saw the crash and called 911.
The driver was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was alone in the car.
Police say he is from Cumberland but his name has not been released pending an autopsy.
