LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming’s student government is planning to fund a study that will analyze the current and future needs of the student union which serves as a central hub for students and services.

The Laramie Boomerang reported Friday that the university’s Board of Trustees approved sending out a request for proposals for the Union Visioning Study in May.

The cap for that study was set at $350,000 and would be paid entirely by student government.

The Wyoming Union houses the University Store, Campus Activities, Non-Traditional Student Center, Rainbow Resource Center, Student Media and meeting space for events and campus groups.

Vice President for Student Affairs Sean Blackburn says the study will result in a comprehensive 30-year plan, which may include short-term as well as bigger and long-term projects.
