ALTON, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire’s Department of Fish and Game says a conservation officer fatally shot a suspected rabid coyote that charged at several people on Mount Major in Alton.
WMUR-TV reports the 50-pound coyote started stalking a woman and her dog on Wednesday. Some hikers scared the animal away. Two similar reports also came in.
A conservation officer warning two girls with their dog on a trail saw the coyote. As he walked toward the coyote, the animal charged at him. It was shot and killed.
