CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Department of Transportation says all the stretches of mountain pass highways closed during the winter are open for traffic.

WYDOT crews reopened Wyoming 130 over the Snowy Range and Wyoming 70 over the Sierra Madre Range on Monday and opened U.S. 14A between Lovell and Burgess Junction on Tuesday.

All three stretches have been reopened ahead of schedule from their annual seasonal closure over the winter.

Crews working to clear 14A in northern Wyoming encountered deep snow from a wet winter, while in the southern part of the state crews encountered thick ice and the effects of recent beetle kill mitigation that left snow in places not seen before.

WYDOT warns that runoff from melting snow and colder nights could cause icy patches on the roads.
