LA ROSE, Ill. (AP) - An often traveled rural road near Peoria will be closed for a summer-long bridge replacement project.

The Peoria Journal Star reports that County Road 2100E, which is commonly referred to as South La Rose Road, will close starting Monday for the nearly $1 million project.

Work on the bridge that spans Crow Creek is expected to be finished by Sept. 7.

Officials say a segment of the route more than a mile long will be shut down during that time.
