LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - A memorial to Vietnam War veterans and a Vietnam War-era Huey Helicopter at a New Mexico park have been damaged by suspected vandals.

Las Cruces police say they are investigating the desecration after the damage was discovered Thursday.

Police say the plastic or glass plate near the nose of the Huey was shattered sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday. The vintage Huey is propped up above the Vietnam War Veterans Memorial at the park in Las Cruces.

Letters from the Vietnam War Veterans Memorial also were damaged.

No arrests have been made.
