LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say a 19-year-old woman who was driving a pickup was arrested after it overturned, fatally injuring a 16-year-old female passenger.
Police say Nina Gateley of Las Vegas “displayed signs of impairment” after the Friday night wreck and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence involving death.
According to police, four people were ejected when the truck overturned after it briefly drifted off the road and the driver then steered it back onto the roadway.
The identity of the girl killed wasn’t released. Two other 16-year-old girls, a 17-year-old boy and Gateley were seriously injured.
It’s not known if Gateley has a defense attorney who could comment on the allegations.
The wreck occurred on Sky Pointe Driver north of Kyle Canyon Road near U.S. 95.
