CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The National Weather Service is forecasting up to 20 inches (51 centimeters) of snow in north-central and western Wyoming mountains.

Winter storm warnings have been posted for the Bighorn, Absaroka and Wind River mountains. Heavy snow was expected to develop Friday and continue into early Sunday morning.

Winter weather advisories are in effect for the Jackson Hole area and Yellowstone National Park.



Rain and cooler temperatures are forecast for lower elevations in the rest of the state.
