UTICA, Miss. (AP) - Nationally syndicated radio and TV host Tom Joyner is set to speak at a graduation ceremony of a historically black college in Mississippi.

WAPT-TV says Joyner will speak to about 130 graduating students on May 13 at the Hinds Community College Utica Campus. A school new release says the Tom Joyner Foundation supports historically black colleges and universities through fundraising, scholarships and endowments.

It says the foundation chooses 11 similar schools to partner with annually. During the partnership, funds are raised to support student scholarships and the school. The school is one of only two historically black two-year college and universities to be selected by the foundation as its June 2018 School of the Month. Though selected for June, the campaign already is running and will end on Dec. 31.
