SWANSEA, Mass. (AP) - Police say a 38-year-old Rhode Island man has died in a fiery early morning crash on a Massachusetts highway.

Massachusetts State Police say a 40-year-old Bristol, Rhode Island, woman was driving east on Interstate 195 in Swansea just after 2 a.m. Thursday when she lost control, crossed the median into the westbound lanes, and struck the victim’s vehicle.

His vehicle burst into flames with the victim trapped inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.



The woman was taken to the hospital.

No names were released.

The crash, including what caused the woman to lose control, remains under investigation.
