BURGAW, N.C. (AP) - A man wanted in a shooting death in North Carolina last month has surrendered to police.
Media outlets report that 21-year-old Corey Alexander Todd turned himself in to Burgaw police around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Todd is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Rakeem Dequante Brown in Burgaw. Police say Brown was walking along a street when he was shot around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 26. He was taken to Pender Memorial Hospital where he died.
Witnesses reported hearing five or six shots and seeing a car leave the scene.
Police have not released a motive in the shooting.
There was no word on whether Todd has an attorney.
