PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (AP) - Police in Rhode Island say a driver suffering from an apparent overdose when he crashed head-on into another vehicle has been charged with DUI.
Firefighters gave 38-year-old Michael Lima two doses of the overdose-reversing drug naloxone after the crash Monday in Portsmouth. He was then taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police say the driver of the other vehicle, a 53-year-old woman, was uninjured.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged.
