Former President Obama’s speech last month at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology left me somewhat confused. In it, Mr. Obama stated that there had been no embarrassing scandals during his presidency. Yet his administration was immersed in actions beyond simple mistakes and politics as usual. It was into openly vicious activities.

Mr. Obama’s sowing the seeds of racial discord effectively expanded our country’s racial divide, which had been diminished during the Bush presidencies. The deaths of countless veterans at the hands of his incompetent Veterans Administration was as offensive a scandal as one could imagine. He created the Bowe Bergdahl scandal with his Rose Garden ceremony honoring the family of a known U.S.-Army deserter, whom he traded for five Taliban “generals.” His Obamacare was a scandal all by itself, implemented as it was under totally false pretenses. His insane Fast and Furious program, which provided proliferation of American guns to Mexican cartels, ended up with a huge body count, including U.S. law-enforcement agents.

Then there was the IRS conservatives-targeting scandal, in which that government office specifically targeted groups that disagreed with Mr. Obama’s political views. And there were the atrocities in Benghazi. I won’t even go into the Hillary Clinton email-and-server scandal, which resulted in violations of U.S. Code Title 18 Sec 2071 and others.

Mr. Obama had eight years of failures and scandals, and those are his legacy.
