CNN’s Alisyn Camerota cannot fathom how any college would reject teen gun control activist David Hogg unless “dumb—ses” filled its ranks.
The co-anchor of “New Day” told viewers on Friday that Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s David Hogg should get into any college of his choice by virtue of being David Hogg. The two discussed the matter in a week in which it was revealed that University of California campuses — UCLA, UCSD, UCSB and UC Irvine — rejected his application.
The Parkland shooting survivor also rode an extra wave of publicity after Fox News host Laura Ingraham mocked his rejections; she apologized after angry critics started to contact her show’s advertisers.

“David, I am stunned that four colleges reject you,” Ms. Camerota said. “What kind of dumb—s colleges don’t want you? I mean you’ve taken the country by storm. How do you explain this? Did they reject you before the Parkland massacre, or how do you explain this?”

The 17-year-old, who was accepted at Cal Poly, Cal State San Marcos and Florida Atlantic University, said that a “heavily impacted university system” dictates “a lot of really good candidates that don’t get into college.”
“I think it goes to show that regardless of whether or not you get into college, you can still change the world,” the #NeverAgain activist said.
Mr. Hogg used Twitter on Thursday to reject Ms. Ingraham’s apology due to her decision not to “denounce the way [Fox News] has treated my friends and I in this fight. It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children.”
Any student should be proud of a 4.2 GPA —incl. @DavidHogg111. On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland. For the record, I believe my show was the first to feature David…(1/2)

I 100% agree an apology in an effort just to save your advertisers is not enough. I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I️ in this fight. It’s time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children. https://t.co/H0yWs4zMGk
