The Baltimore Orioles announced Thursday that longtime second baseman Brian Roberts will be inducted into the franchise’s Hall of Fame.
Roberts spent 13 of his 14-year Major League career with the Orioles and was an All-Star selection in 2005 and 2007.

In 2009 Roberts led the majors in doubles with 56. He also led the AL with 50 doubles in 2004 and 50 stolen bases in 2007.
During his playing career, Roberts admitted that he used steroids on one occasion in 2003, but “immediately realized that this was not what I stood for or anything that I wanted to continue doing” and never took them again. He was not suspended following his admission.
The team will have a ceremony for Roberts at Camden Yards Aug. 10, during a game against the Boston Red Sox.
