FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - The Latest on a Fort Carson wildfire that destroyed three homes (all times local):

5:10 p.m.

Three days after a wildfire broke out at Fort Carson during a training exercise, the Army has not yet said whether soldiers were using live ammunition.

The fire, which started Friday, spread outside the post boundaries, destroyed three homes and forced the evacuation of 250 others. Most evacuees were allowed to return by Monday.

Fort Carson spokeswoman Brandy Gill said she didn’t know whether soldiers were firing live rounds during the training. She said investigators haven’t determined whether the exercise started the fire.

The fire started amid dry, windy weather and scorched 5 square miles (13 square kilometers).

The fire is contained, but El Paso County sheriff’s spokeswoman Natalie Sosa said five homes were still under evacuation orders Monday because they’re near trash piles and tires that were still burning.
