PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Several residents were evacuated when a fire broke out at a southern New Jersey apartment complex, but authorities say no injuries were reported.

The fire broke out around 5 a.m. Tuesday in a unit at the Pleasantville site. It heavily damaged that upper-floor apartment and also caused some damage to neighboring apartments before it was brought under control.

Four adults and three children were evacuated from two nearby apartments as a precaution.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
